With the gradual improvement of the security system for the disabled, the employment status of the disabled group has continued to improve. The Chinese Government has formulated a series of policies, such as the Administrative Measures for the Collection and Use of Employment Security Funds for Persons with Disabilities, to promote and protect the employment rights and interests of persons with disabilities. According to a study that combined questionnaires with in-depth interviews, positive attitudes of employers towards job seekers with disabilities are one of the key factors in increasing their hiring rates. However, to improve employment opportunities for persons with disabilities more holistically, employers’ cost-effectiveness concerns need to be addressed, taking into account the broader socio-economic context. It is worth noting that with the support of the government’s overall policy, some enterprises have adopted the practice of “nominal employment” to achieve the purpose of cost-effectiveness. The pros and cons of this model need to be further explored.References
